Salvation

I was saved when I was 7 years old on a spring Sunday morning shortly before resurrection day. I was sitting on the right hand 2^nd row, the seventh chair over when my dad (the Pastor) was giving the invitation. He was talking about God the Father wanting us to come to him and be held by him and to be in his love forever in heaven. I felt pulled forward like a magnet by the Holy Spirit. And I didn’t want to miss out on being with God and his love forever. I resisted at first, but finally yielded to the drawing of the Holy Spirit.

When I went forward, my dad at first thought I just wanted something from him, but I told him, “Dad, I want to get saved.” He asked me if I knew I was a sinner and I told him, “Yes, I know I do wrong things.” Then he asked me if I knew that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. When I told him, “Yes,” he found out whether or not I would like to pray to receive Jesus into my heart as my Savior and Lord and I responded, “I want to.”

After prayer, I immediately started weeping with joy and knew I had peace with God and was on my way to heaven. I have never doubted my salvation since then.

Since that time, as I continue to read the word of God and pray, I feel his presence daily. His presence encourages me when I’m down, guides me in my daily decisions and guides me in decisions about my future.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

When I was 20 years old and going to Oregon State University I remember I was really hungry for God. I was getting training from Campus Crusade for Christ and we were studying the third book, “The Filling of the Holy Spirit”. I confessed all known sins as I wrote them on a piece of paper. Then I wrote 1 Cor.1: 9 over these: “That if you will confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive your sins, and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.” Lastly, I crumpled up the paper and burned it. I felt clean, but felt that I needed something. Then in prayer I appropriated or received the fullness of the Spirit for fruit and witness and power to live for God. I felt an immediate desire to witness to people about Jesus and was led by the Holy Spirit to people who were open to that witness.

The next two months while witnessing more, I also heard other people talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit including the gift of other tongues. I told the Lord that I wanted every good thing he had for me and left in his hands.

Then, at a home Bible study of about seven people the leader closed that night by saying, “Let’s all just spend some time on our knees thanking and praising and worshipping Jesus.” Well quite unexpectantly, I started feeling like a thousand volts of electricity in waves of love flowing throughout my body from my head to my toes and out to my fingertips. As these waves continued increasing, my mouth started moving in sounds and words I didn’t understand. This at first scared me, but I spoke silently towards heaven, “Devil, if this is from you, then I don’t want it. But God, if this is from you, then keep it going.” I started turning this gift off and on several times and then remembered the Scripture, “The spirits of the prophets are subject unto the prophets.” 1Cor.14: 32. Although early on I had times of questioning tongues, I have been praying in them daily for many years now and they cause me to receive much revelation and encouragement and edification from the Lord.

Past Ministries

Especially after the Baptism of the Spirit, God continued to prompt me to witness about Jesus. I have had times where I walked into a restaurant, saw people sitting by themselves in a booth, walked over to them and inquired, “Is anyone sitting here?” When they would respond, “No.”, then I would ask, “May I join you?” and they would many times say, “Sure.”

Next I would start conversation about the weather and what they did for a living etc., praying that God would lead the conversation onto him. One of the frequent transitions I used was to ask, “What church do you go to?” and that would get us on to the topic of God and salvation. Then I would share the four spiritual laws with them and always be sure to ask the closing question, “Is there any reason why you couldn’t pray this prayer right now?”

God used me when I sold encyclopedias door to door for several months to answer questions about God and the Bible with my fellow salesmen. I also was a good listener when they shared their problems and trials and pointed them to Jesus.

Then there was the two years that I was a car salesman at Hannah Motors in Vancouver, WA. The other salesmen asked me my secret for selling cars in dry times and I shared about Jesus and the power of the Word of God and tithing. I led a weekly Bible study of car salesman and several men got right with the Lord and one finance manager got the Baptism of the Spirit.

I have always sought to be active in church life. I have been a Minister of Music for two years, an Assistant Pastor for two years, an Interim Pastor for a year, I have been in many choirs, on a worship team for a year and sung many solos, duets, etc. and played my trombone and guitar. Another area I have always enjoyed was teaching Sunday School and leading home Bible studies.

But then came the nine-year period (that started about 1994), where God had me in prophetic training. During that period he had me on many study and research projects and extended times of fasting and prayer, but the Lord wouldn’t let me get even one opportunity to preach or teach anywhere. Until that time, most every church I went to would let me preach or teach occasionally, but during that period, no matter how I tried, it just wouldn’t happen.

One of the projects the Lord had me work on was studying and meditating on the meaning of the word, “hearing” in the Bible for five years. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17 What I found out was that “hearing” in the Greek and Hebrew meant understanding, paying attention, being receptive and responsive, being open minded and open hearted and in Hebrew one of the meanings was “to obey” the word of God.

Another project he had me work on was meditating on the Ten Commandments every day for seven years. I know Martin Luther called the Ten Commandments his “fire starter”, but at first I couldn’t see how “laws” could be very exciting. Well, after a while, God showed me that success and prosperity (Hebrew meaning “breakthroughs” and “insights”) in Joshua 1:7-8 and Psalms 1:2-3 came from meditating on the “law” not the word of God (as most people misquote this passage). Now although “law” could be expanded to mean the entire word of God, the precise word here is “law” meaning the Ten Commandments. Upon further meditation, God showed me how the Ten Commandments meant 1) How to love God and 2) How to love man and the revelation and inspiration flowed.

The project that is closest to my heart is the ministry of healing. I had read every book I could get my hands on about healing and had studied and meditated every Scripture about healing and, many times, memorized many of these. Then, in October 2002 when I was in the laundry room of my apartment complex, I saw a flyer announcing a healing seminar the next day by John G. Lake Ministries. I purchased a set of tapes called “Divine Healing Technician Training” and it started a fire in me to start ministering to the sick. In March of 2003 I took this training in person from Curry Blake of John G. Lake Ministries and learned as much by watching the ministry to the sick as I did listening to the teaching.

Present Ministries

In 2003, confirmed by multiple prophecies by several people, God released me into prophetic ministry. That is also the year I met my wife Carol in John G. Lake Ministries. We were married on December 14 of 2003 and have been very busy in ministry ever since. God has used us to heal many people including healing of cancer, fibromyalgia, TMJ, sciatic nerve problems, deafness (right before our eyes), blindness, many areas of pain, back problems, stroke, colds, flu, headaches, sleep disorders, moles, arthritus (one was a unbeliever who was an assistant manager of a grocery store, dogs, cats, finances and many other areas. We started a Friday Night Worship and Bible Study Group about February of 2004, teaching healing, deliverance and the prophetic ministry. God had us mentored by the prophet George Musk in prophecy, counseling and deliverance since about May of 2004. We have also had many other mentors and training in Healing, Deliverance, Prophetic, Spiritual Warfare, and Intercession including Charles and Frances Hunter, Bree Keyton, Henry Gruver, Lori Steele, Todd Bentley (pray for him, don’t just judge him), Mahesh Chavda, Roland and Heidi Baker and many others. We also started ministering deliverance and inner healing to people in our home on a regular basis about June 2004 and have had many referrals. It is so exciting to see people set free from abuses and traumas of childhood! Besides starting a book on healing, we started a church on Sunday mornings at our clubhouse on September 4^th, 2005.

Calling

When I was twenty-one years old and going to school in Shawnee, Oklahoma at Oklahoma Baptist University, God spoke to me that I was to be his prophet. Now at the time I didn’t have a clue what that meant, whether I was to foretell the future or just be a God called preacher, but I obeyed his command to anoint myself with oil in my bathroom. Since that time God has used me many times to speak what he tells me to speak, and it hasn’t always been easy.

About fall of 2001 I first attended a prophetic group led by Lori Steele in Camas, Washington. Her daughter and son (who were prophets) told me that I had a strong prophetic anointing. This dumbfounded me, as I didn’t fully realize what that meant. Then this group (who had four prophets in it) told me they would help me understand the prophetic ministry and would mentor me. My gifting came out easier when I was around their anointing and I so appreciated their fellowship and help at understanding that my prophetic gifting didn’t make me weird, just “different” than many Christians and that was OK. As I alluded to before, George Musk and his wife Beverly also mentored and ministered to us in the prophetic since about May of 2004. We appreciate being able to “bounce things off them” and ask questions of people who are more experienced than we are. However they have also “pushed us out of the nest” to encourage us to fly on our own in the ministry God has called us to.

Future Goals

We want to equip other Christians in healing, deliverance and prophetic by teaching, impartation and example. One of our means to do this is to have a church where the pastor is not the one man show, but that all of the saints are equipped and effective in ministering healing, deliverance and prophetic to others. This includes the teaching of soul winning which is part of the Great Commission. We want to continue street ministry and the market place where we can influence those outside of the church to come to Christ, including our ministry to them in healing the sick, casting out demons, and restoration of the heart to reveal that Christ is Lord! We have trained people now in healing, inner healing, evangelism, discipleship, deliverance, intercession, spiritual warfare, Jewish roots (Jewish Holy Days) and Occult Holidays and this has all ended up in a three books to train disciples for the last days.

Salvation

After my second divorce, my son, Laird M. Thompson, called and invited me to London, England, for a crusade led by Morris Cerrulo in August 1994. This changed my life completely. On the third day my son led me in the sinner’s prayer and I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. I felt different right away, emptied of the religion of my youth, and yet hungry for the Word of God.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

In December 1994 I was at a Four Square Church revival in Sequim, Washington, and was filled with the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues. Shortly after that I was led to Calvary Fellowship, Sequim, Washington, and learned rapidly many truths of the Gospel. It was exciting to listen to the Holy Spirit and be obedient to his direction. After being saved a year my son called and asked me to attend Oral Roberts University for the ICBM conference (International Charismatic Bible Ministries). While there I checked into various Bible schools: Victory Bible Institute, Rhema, and Oral Roberts University. It was not until I arrived back to Sequim, Washington, that the Lord spoke to me to attend Oral Roberts University. I did not know how this could happen. I did not have my undergraduate degree, and frankly argued with Him. Why a Seminary College? Where he was sending me I would need credentials.

I had many visions and opportunities in the healing ministry at Oral Roberts University. My experiences have been both challenging and rewarding. It required unbelievable faith, courage and stamina to continue in the face of much adversity. I became a member of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma, (Spirit filled Charismatic church) and became active in altar prayer ministry, intercession, and evangelism while attending ORU.

Ministry Experience

After graduation I traveled to Europe and interceded for the nations and prayer walked parts of France and ministered in small villages. Soul winning and a heart for intercession prevailed with many divine connections and favor with a Monastic Order of Vezelay, France. When I returned to USA, Tulsa, Oklahoma, I attended Victory Christian Center, and was involved with children’s ministries, healing ministry, intercession, evangelism and crusades locally.

In 2000 after returning from Avalon, France trip of ministry I relocated to Portland, Oregon, and spent time with my family. In March 2003 I took training in Portland, Oregon, Divine Healing Technician Training, materials by John G. Lake Ministries and taught by Pastor Curry Blake of Texas.

Present Ministry

The ministry calls in my life started as a child when I heard the audible voice of God. At an early age I would pray for the sick, they would recover, and God would speak to me. It was not until a major life crisis that I was able to come to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. As I have matured in my Christian walk I have been given much and the Lord requires my undivided attention. I shall serve him all the days of my life and rejoice in the call to serve others. Prophetic, evangelism, and healing are some of the aspects the Lord has evidenced through me by depending on Him in the circumstance.

I met my husband at the John G. Lake Ministries training and we were married in December, 2003. We have been active daily in ministry. I taught a women’s group and there was evidenced God’s healing power and prophetic calling. My husband and I had a Friday night ministry about fourteen months, which included: healing, teaching, prophetic, intercession, word of knowledge and praise and worship. It is such a privilege to serve our Lord Jesus Christ!

Future Goals

We want to equip other Christians in healing, deliverance and prophetic by teaching, impartation and example.

(Matt 28:19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Our next step was to expand our teachings to a Church service, Sunday A.M., starting September 6, 2005. We eventually would like to travel the world and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Europe and other parts of the world as the Holy Spirit quickens us.
