My Prayer for Your Blessing

Yahweh God said in Numbers 6:23, "This is how you are to bless the Israelites.." and then what followed was what people call the "Benediction" or closing "Blessing" for almost every Christian Church and almost every Jewish Synogogue and/or the Jewish Temple since about 1400 B.C. . It is a blessings to the Israelites. Well, according to Romans 4:9-16, we are the children of Abraham by faith and WE ARE ISRAELITES BY FAITH.

Romans 4:9-16

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness. Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, (Abraham) is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.

And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression. Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring-- not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. (NIV and my comments in brackets)

The next thing is that the word Israel means "one who struggles and prevails with God" (see Gen 32:24-32, especially verse 28 in any version) and the KJV brings out "for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." The letters "SRA" in Israel means "a prince (or princess) that rules with power and authority". So when we seek God’s face in prayer and have hunger for intimacy with Him so much that we "struggle" or "wrestle" in prayer, then we receive His grace and power to PREVAIL and have favor with both God and men. Also the word "blessing" in Hebrew literally means "to kneel in blessing someone". So God "kneels down" even as Jesus was in a sense a Servant and knelt to wash the Disciples feet and Jesus said in Matthew 11:29, "I am gentle and humble in heart", so God "kneels" down to bless us in every way.

The Hebrew word for blessing is "barak". It means every way the Patriarchs blessed their children: "God will love you and bless you (in righteousness, life and vitality, prosperity, salvation, deliverance, victory, divine aid and help, healing and divine health) and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land-- your grain, new wine and oil-- the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land that he swore to your forefathers to give you. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor any of your livestock without young. Yahweh will take away, remove and keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you." (Deut 7:13-15 – NIV and my comments in brackets based on blessings of the Patriarchs and Deut 28:1-14)

However, here is the condition for this blessing:

Deuteronomy 7:9-12

"Know therefore that Yahweh your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him. Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today. If you pay attention to, (hear, perceive, understand, receive,) and obey these laws and are careful to follow them, then Yahweh your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers. (NIV and restoring God’s name and my comments in brackets based on the meaning of "hear" ["shema" in Hebrew])

So here is the blessing I pray for you if you already know Him and are already reading His Word and are already "struggling" in prayer to seek Him and His Presence with all your heart: (If you don’t know God personally yet, please go to "Invitation to Heaven".

My Prayer for Your Blessing:

"May Yahweh (even though He is God Almighty) kneel down to bless you (in righteousness, life and vitality, prosperity, salvation, deliverance, victory, divine aid and help, healing and divine health) and may He keep, guard and protect you with a hedge of protection around you; May Yahweh make His face shine upon you and keep you in His presence and be gracious to you and put His favor on you; May Yahweh lift up His countenance upon you and turn his face toward you and give you His shalom and peace and healing and completeness.’ So (I have) put (God’s) name on you (you who are Israelites by faith, who struggle and prevail with God), and (you are blessed)."
